A Potosi, Missouri native, Donald "Lukus" Dement is thrilled to be back at his Alma Mater teaching the very subject that changed his life at Potosi years ago. Lukus Dement joined the St. Clair High School faculty after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre/Speech Secondary Education from College of the Ozarks. He taught at St. Clair for 6 years. He has his MA in Directing through Roosevelt University's Fast-Track Program. During his time at College of the Ozarks, Lukus worked off his tuition in the Jones Theatre Company. This work station allowed him to both perform, crew and direct a variety of theatrical productions. Lukus completed his student teaching at Ozark High School (Ozark, Missouri) and co-directed Disney's Beauty and the Beast under the supervision of Ms. Laurie Hanlen. He currently stays involved theatrically by performing in shows at the local community colleges such as Mineral Area Fine Art's Academy's production of The Wizard of Oz & Harvey and East Central College's production of Little Shop of Horrors & Puffs. Lukus is a proud alumni of Potosi High School, and he is thrilled to be back inspiring students to fall in love with theatre, just like he did. He has high expectations for the future of the PHS Theatre Troupe & Speech Team.
