The Academy for Visual Arts and Design is a Rhode Island Department of Education, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Board of Trustees approved program. This rigorous program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the arts. Students will cultivate the interpersonal skills that are necessary to be able to work collaboratively in the classroom setting as well as with our industry partners in art, gallery, and museum education. Students will be expected to demonstrate their skills and talents within in a multiyear sequence of advanced level course work culminating in a comprehensive portfolio of artwork that they will present during exhibitions.
