Setting up your "school" space at home
Good ergonomics contribute to learning. Good ergonomics require tweaking and adjusting to make a chair and a table be the right fit with your body. Here are the basics to explain what they are showing in the video.
- It is important for your feet to be grounded on something solid. At school we sometimes use a ream or two of paper on the floor.
- Your hips and knees should be at about a 90 degree angle and your elbows should be at about 90 degrees as they rest on the table.
- Most of us don't have an extra keyboard to add to our laptops. SO, instead of what the video shows you, you can use a three ring binder as a slant board. This will raise the screen a little higher and may be more comfortable for your wrists. Contact your PT or OT if you have any questions.
