This course explores a multitude of areas related to aviation and the aerospace industry. Highly motivating activities include aircraft design and construction, as well as the applied principles of flight such as, aerodynamics, controls, navigation, and engine power. Model aircraft will be used to present concepts of weight, balance, and physics. Students will be exposed to all aircraft systems. Students will learn theory through the construction and flight of gliders and power driven and radio controlled aircraft. Students will learn piloting basics by using flight-simulating software on computers.
