As students engage with learning content online, making sure they are safe is a top priority. Thankfully we have several tips to help you keep your kids safe and productive when engaging with the digital world.
DigitalEd: Portage Public School's DigitalEd site is a way for us to partner with families to promote positive digital citizenship for our students. Whether you are looking for parent guides about the apps our children are using, device use contracts, or information on internet filtering, we have covered. Head to https://digitaled.ws.portageps.org/ to learn more.
Digital Meeting Etiquette: As our teachers connect with their students via digital tools during this time at home, it is important that we keep these basic tips in mind so everyone can have a positive experience.
Keep Chromebooks Up to Date: It is important that you keep your Chromebook and Chrome Browser up to date. Follow these simple how to steps to make sure your device is up to date.
Chromebooks for Home: Should you require a device for your student while learning at home, please direct your request to your student's building.
Chromebook Repairs: We are aware a number of you are seeking a repair for, or to return, your PPS Chromebook. We wish to facilitate this while maintaining appropriate safeguards during this time.
We will open the Administration Building twice a week, by appointment only, to facilitate this. We will not repair Chromebooks, rather exchange them for a Chromebook that is clean and working. You can expect that when you enter the building there will be a drop off area for the Chromebook you are returning and an area with a Chromebook pre-labeled with your student’s name for pickup. We expect to open up the week of April 13th or 20th as per guidance from the state.
If you wish to schedule a return or exchange, please complete the following form https://forms.gle/sowYP9XKMY2TnuUG7
Please be sure to bring your charger as well!
Should you have difficult with the form, please email help@portageps.org or call 269-323-5102 and leave a message if you have any questions.
