As our teachers connect with their students via digital tools during this time at home, it is important that we keep these basic tips in mind so everyone can have a positive experience.
Be Kind: Use the mute button on your microphone, so you can hear your teacher and/or friends talking. Using headphones with microphones will cut down on background noise and help everyone hear better.
Be Respectful: Just like in the classroom, we will take turns sharing and listening to each other. Do your best to be on time. We will only meet for 20-40 minutes. Use the chat in a professional manner and stay on topic.
Be Responsible: If your teacher gives you a task to try or an opportunity to share, give it a try! Show thumbs-up on the screen when you would like to share. Wait for your teacher to call on you, and then unmute yourself to share your answer. Ask questions in the chat. You might want to have paper and a pencil handy to write down any notes.
Be Safe: Find a spot to meet that is safe for you and your device. Sitting down at a kitchen table or desk works well. Stay in the spot during the meeting and keep your attention on your meeting friends. Give your attention to the meeting and avoid multi-tasking.
