Jordan Dollins serves as Director of Choirs at Portage High School, where he directs around 200 students across two treble choirs, two mixed-voice concert choirs, and a show choir. He also teaches piano keyboarding classes and is the vocal director of musical productions. Additionally, Dollins serves as the northern area high school coordinator for the Indiana Music Education Association's Circle the State with Song festival and sits on the board of directors of the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA).
Before coming to Portage, Dollins was choral director at John Glenn High School and Urey Middle School in Walkerton, IN. Under his direction, his choral ensembles have earned high marks at ISSMA events and have been awarded the ISSMA All-Music Award several times. Dollins also served as music director for the school musical productions. Previously, he was an adjunct instructor of voice at Harding University in Searcy, AR and was also assistant choral director at Harding Academy.
Dollins earned his Bachelor of Music Education (BME) degree from Harding University and his Master of Music (MM) degree in Choral Conducting from Ball State University. He has studied choral conducting with Dr. Andrew Crow, Dr. Duane Karna, Dr. Cliff Ganus III and instrumental conducting with Dr. Mike Chance. An active composer, arranger, and orchestrator, he regularly writes and arranges music for several choruses, stage productions, and a cappella ensembles each year.
