Sarah Andrews and Natalia James (Student Connector), University of Sussex.
In this poster presentation, we will reflect on our early experiences building a co-created student-staff programme of support for mature students at the University of Sussex. Our themes include successful transitions to higher education, community, belonging and support networks. Students have worked in collaboration with staff to pilot activities, conduct research and make proposals which will continue to develop in the coming years.
The Connector Programme at the University of Sussex is an established co-creation programme, facilitating a wide range of projects since 2020, including those included in this presentation. Our student-staff community aims to improve the student experience at Sussex through shared development and collaborative working, actively engaging students with the evolution of their Student Experience. The majority of paid Co-Creation Projects support delivery of theUniversity's Access and Participation Plan (APP), and focus on improving equity of access and success for home-domiciled (UK) students currently underrepresented in higher education.
