Tales from the frozen north: How the fins do partnership and student led support

On a recent study tour to the Baltics and Finland, 40 SU officers and staff were struck by cultures of partnership and trust with students, along with structures that support it, that delivered universal, diversity focussed induction; student influence at the right level at the right time; and recognition and reward for students who help "make" the student experience for others. This workshop, with an institutional assessment game and an exercise in programme design , will explain what we think can be imported successfully to UK HE in pursuit of better outcomes, enhanced access and participation, and lower institutional costs.
