Session Outline:
Since 2021, the Dept. of Psychology has recruited Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) representatives to represent the EDI interests of students in their cohort. Specifically, EDI reps survey the students they represent to identify situations in which the needs and interests of specific groups of students appear not to have been considered and students in that group have been disadvantaged in some way. In this presentation, we will outline why the EDI rep scheme was implemented, how it is operationalised, what actions have been implemented to improve inclusivity across the student body in Dept. of Psychology as a result of feedback to EDI reps, and also special projects the EDI reps have worked on (i.e. focus groups to (i) understand and improve EDI surrounding advertising and recruitment of Psychology UG degrees; (ii) understand and improve inclusivity of different groups of students study UG Psychology degrees at UoP, etc.).
Session Aims:
Outline of Psychology Dept. EDI rep process including EDI outcomes based on feedback from students.
