This session will give an overview of differing perceptions of quality of assessment and feedback between students, between academic staff, and between staff and students. The session is designed for those who revise assessment with the aim of addressing issues such as differential attainment.
It will cover ways in which assessment and feedback makes better sense to students and promotes quality learning. The session will include evidence from two UoP projects (TESTA and Differing Perceptions of Quality of Learning) and will offer the audience the opportunity to reflect on their practices.
The aims of the session are to:
Outline the principles of quality assessment and best practice examples
Present differing perceptions of quality of assessment and feedback
Examine case studies showing how assessment can be re-designed for quality learning
Interrogate current assessment examples from participants to make positive changes
