At-Home Learning Activities for Preschool
Student Attendance: CLICK HERE to indicate your child's attendance. Please be sure to click this link for each at-home flexible instruction day. If your child is going to be absent, please use the regular form for reporting absences and reasons.
Below, please find suggestions for fine motor practice skills, and other activities.
Generally speaking, preschool activities should be comfortable with an age-appropriate time frame. Let your child be your guide. All activities should be supervised by a caregiver.
Due Dates: Student work may be completed at the family's convenience. Preschool is meant to be fun. Please do not feel pressured to complete these activities.
Office Hours: I will be available for immediate email response between 10AM and 10:30AM. Please allow 24 hours for any email messages received after 10:30AM.
Suggested length of time for each activity is approximately 15 minutes. Please choose as few or as many as your child is interested in.
Peeling and placing stickers
Threading beads (or Cheerios) onto pipe cleaners (or dry spaghetti)
Play-Doh
Ripping and crumpling paper
Using hole punchers
Supervised use of safety scissors
Building with Legos
Suggested length of time for each activity is approximately 15 minutes. Please choose as few or as many as your child is interested in.
Follow the Leader or Simon Says
Dance Party
Paper Plate Skating - Use paper plates like ice skates on the kitchen floor
Pillow Jumping - Place pillows on the floor and jump, using two feet, over each one
Big Shoes - Try walking in shoes that are too big and try to keep them on
Using whatever mediums they choose, have the children draw a picture of their favorite part of their stay-home day. Grown ups, please write the child's narration/explanation on the bottom of the drawing. Feel free to use the materials that are most comfortable for you. Crayons and colored pencils are the least messy options! Children may bring these pictures to school when we return.
