TARJETA DE
RECOMPENSAS
Rewards Card
Rewards Card
At the beginning of the school year, all students from 1st through 3rd grade receive a REWARDS CARD. During Spanish class, students place their card on their desk. As I teach, I walk around and give card punches when I see students complying with the class expectations (being responsible, respectful and kind), they show engagement to the lesson and they participate in the activities. Sometimes I’ll punch their card without even saying anything, which it’s a fun surprise for them!
Once a student earns 10 star punches, they receive a “RECOMPENSA” (reward). They can choose something from the “CAJA DE RECOMPENSAS” (reward box), which includes fun items from México like mini luchador figures, handmade bracelets, and Pokémon cards. (Pokémon cards are not allowed to be used at school or on the bus, so students who choose them are asked to put them in their backpack right away and enjoy them at home.)
Students also have the option to make their own badge/button. If they choose this, they will receive two paper circles to design their own creation and they get to turn it into a real badge/button using the badge-making machine, this is always a favorite!
After a student redeems their reward, they receive a new REWARDS CARD to start the process again.
