Who We Serve
Who We Serve
The Learning Support Program at Pope John Paul II is committed to providing support for students with learning differences through a collaborative and faith-centered approach. Designed for students with accommodation plans developed through the Student Support Team (SST) process, our program focuses on fostering academic growth, and confidence in our students.
With an emphasis on Language Arts and Math, as well as additional support across content areas, our Learning Support Teachers serve as dedicated liaisons among administration, guidance, IU specialists, classroom teachers, and families. Together, we create a nurturing and inclusive environment where students are empowered to overcome challenges, celebrate their strengths, and thrive both academically and personally.
Grounded in teamwork and guided by our Catholic mission, we aim to ensure every student feels supported, valued, and capable of achieving their full potential.
Who Qualifies to Use the Learning Support Classroom
The Learning Support Program is designed for students who demonstrate a learning difference and meet specific eligibility criteria. Classroom teachers are encouraged to collaborate with Learning Support staff to access strategies and resources that benefit students who may not yet qualify for the program. Open communication ensures early intervention and the opportunity to address challenges proactively.
Eligibility Requirements:
Students might be eligible for Learning Support if they have had:
A psycho-educational evaluation identifying a learning difference.
An official IEP or 504 Plan issued by the public school district.
Administrative referral for a compelling reason that warrants individualized support.

At its core, the Learning Support Classroom reflects our commitment to fostering student success through tailored instruction, collaboration, and a shared dedication to growth and achievement.
