Pope John XXIII School is excited to invite students in grades 3–5 to take part in this year’s Battle of the Books Competition! This friendly, competitive reading program encourages a love of books while introducing students to a wide variety of great literature.
What’s the Battle of the Books?
Pope John XXIII will form three teams to compete in the Quad School Battle on February 4th at 5:00 p.m. at the Evanston Public Library. Our Panthers will face off against teams from Chiaravalle School, Roycemore School, and Saints JFX in a multiple-choice quiz competition played on Kahoot.
Who would enjoy Battle of the Books?
Students who like reading from a set list and discovering new genres usually love this competition. It may be a challenge, however, for students who prefer to choose all their own books.
What’s at stake?
The true prize is the teamwork, learning, and joy that come from reading together. But yes—medals and bragging rights are also on the line!
