About Me
This is my 7th school year working at Pope John. I started working in the 2018-2019 school year as a substitute teacher and was hired as the middle school Latin teacher the following school year.
As a student I attended Pope John, kindergarten-8th grade--Graduating Class of 2010--and it is right here that my passion for language began: English grammar, as well as Latin, were among my favorite subjects. Now, as a teacher, I have found that through teaching Latin grammar, I am able to teach my students a depth of grammar in the English language, too. My students are often surprised by the many connections between Latin and English. Getting to watch them grow in their understanding of, respect for, and excitement about language, both in English and in Latin, is why I love what I do.
In addition to teaching Latin, I also work in our after school daycare program, assist Mrs. Mel Wolff with the PJ Players drama club, and enthusiastically organize our school spelling bee each year.
Outside of teaching, I love to spend my time baking; singing; and playing and reading with my husband and daughter.
