Professor Arun Patil is currently the Vice-Chancellor of Sanjay Ghodawat University (SGU), Kolhapur, India. Prior to joining SGU, Professor Patil was Academic Dean (Engagement and Partnerships) and Dean for Melbourne Campus at Victorian Institute of Technology (VIT) Australia. Professor Patil has extensive academic experience in various leadership and managerial roles including Vice-Chancellor and President at Amity University Rajasthan, India; Director of Engineering Postgraduate Coursework at Deakin University, Australia; Deputy Dean (L&T) at CQUniversity, Australia. Professor Patil is an Expert member for Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), Australia and holds several adjunct and visiting professor positions in Australia, Russia, Vietnam and India. He holds a PhD, the MEngSc., both from Monash University, Australia with UNESCO Research Scholarships. He has also obtained M.Sc. (Applied Electronics) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India.

Dr. Vinay Gupta obtained his Ph.D. at the MDS University (India). His thesis work led to the discovery Mott-Anderson metal-insulator transition in fluorinated carbon fibers, along with several other inventions, including stage-1 CxF carbon fibers. This opened up new domains of research. Based on this work he was awarded a JSPS fellowship at Kyoto University, Japan in 1998, where he extended his work until 2003. In 2003, he was awarded a Humboldt fellowship at Ilmenau Technical University, Germany. In 2004, he returned to Kyushu University, Japan as a visiting associated professor, until 2008. In 2008, he came back to India and joined the National Physical Laboratory as a scientist/Assistant professor, until 2018. In 2018, he came to Masdar Institute, KU, UAE, to work on the development of a rechargeable battery. He is currently an assistant professor at the Physics Department, KU since 2021.
