Hello and welcome!
My name is Amanda Pickering, and I have the privilege of leading the Gifted and Talented program for the elementary level here at Ponder ISD. This is my second year in this role, and I absolutely love every moment of it!

I have been part of the Ponder ISD family for several years, previously teaching both kindergarten and 3rd grade. My husband, Jerrod, and I are grateful to live in such a supportive and close-knit community, and we deeply value the exceptional opportunities our school district provides. Our daughter Addison graduated from Ponder in 2024 and now attends Abilene Christian University. Our younger two, Kyndall (8th grade) and Beckham (1st grade), are enjoying a variety of programs here at Ponder, including Student Council, Athletics, and the new Dual Language Program.

I am beyond excited to work with your children this year—encouraging them to think critically, stretch their creativity, and embrace the challenge of trying hard things. My goal is to help them grow not only academically, but also in confidence, perseverance, and curiosity.
