ABSTRACT
For the last few years Catalan music has gone through a lot of changes, whether that be in terms of style, gender or language, so to acknowledge ourselves about these changes and their possible causes, we did some research.
Our objective was to find interesting answers to our questions related to the influence of English and other languages in Catalan songs. One of our biggest aims was to investigate if Catalan music is really being lost among youngsters, or if it´s starting to get more popular.
This week we have been working on searching through the internet to look for information. We made a drive document with necessary information to later make a website, and to get more precise information we made a questionnaire for the students of Pompeu and then we went to a discography and a studio where we interviewed Sabine Huygaerts and Lluis costa in his studio.
We saw that recently a lot of different styles and genres have appeared in catalan music, which favor its growth. And right now, Catalan music is at a good place, even though it needs to be more widely publicized and needs to receive more support from Catalan radio stations.
