HOMEWORK and NOTEBOOK HELPS

Google Classroom

I make use of Google Classroom for the posting of notebook assignments, tests and quizzes, copies of notes, links to resources for assignments and projects, and, occasionally, turning in of assignments. Students have a created account for Social Studies in their Google Apps with which they may access from home or school. Please check for posted assignments and resources regularly.

Homework Assignments:

Homework for Social Studies will mainly be in the form of skills practice or to complete projects and assignments not done in class. Students will be given instruction and resources to complete the assignments. I will also post assignments/directions/resources in Google Classroom in case there are questions. Typically, there will be about 2-3 homework assignments a week. I try to avoid weekend homework unless it is part of a long-term project.

Notebooks will be checked near the end of each 6 week grading period for an important part of their overall grade.

Grading

Polk County Schools uses a 10 point grading scale.: A 90-100, B 80-89, C 70-79, D 60-69, F 0-59

Grades for my class are weighted: 40%-Unit tests/Projects, 25%-Quizzes, 20%-Notebooks, 15%- Homework/Classwork
