Welcome back our amazing Nellie Bennett artists! Our art department is excited for a new experience to create in our art room.
Ms. Collier teaches art with kindergarten, first grade, and is the adviser for Think Tank and Voyager. Ms. Bukowski teaches art with second, third, fourth, fifth grade and assists in the steam lab Mrs. Smith. New art project ideas, artists and cultures will be explored throughout the school year.
Our Nellie Bennett art studio website is developed to help give both students and parents insight into what we do as a department. Please click on the link at the top of the page for some fun at home art lessons organized by grade levels. Allow your children to get creative with their screen! Additional art activities such as virtual museums, sketchbook ideas and audiobooks are some of the related art materials for you to explore.

Students at all levels are given the opportunity to work with a wide variety of mediums; painting, sewing, pastel and markers. Classes are encouraged to work with both two and three dimensional work as well as fiber art.

Each project introduces a new concept, artist, time period and/or culture. The principles and elements of design are addressed to clearly meet the objective of each lesson.

Yearly our department displays a collaborative art show throughout the building showcasing student’s artwork. Each student from grades kindergarten through fifth participates by contributing one piece of artwork created in the art room during the school year.

Students are able to take their work out of the classroom setting. In an organized and thoughtful process display artwork in clusters to enhance student’s projects. Also students in other grades can view projects they may have worked on or see what projects to expect in the years to come.
