Homework

Collins - Homework

You can help your child to be successful in the following ways:

  • Remind your children that homework is intended to reinforce what was learned in school. Don't let it become a source of frustration. Ask Mrs. Collins for help if you don't understand something. Just do your personal best.

  • Establish homework as a priority for your child.

  • Try to provide a quiet place to do homework.

  • Set a routine for doing homework.

  • Take a break if your brain feels full....but make sure to return to your work.

  • Contact me if your child is struggling with homework; homework should take no more than 50 minutes, including silent reading time.

General Tips:

  • Homework should be neat and turned in on time.

  • All assignments must have the correct heading.

  • All Math should be completed in pencil.

  • All work should be completed by the student. Parents may check that it is complete and make suggestions for improvement.

Late Homework:

  • Points will be taken off graded assignments.

  • A conference may need to be set up if a student is consistently late handing in their homework.
