Homework
You can help your child to be successful in the following ways:
Remind your children that homework is intended to reinforce what was learned in school. Don't let it become a source of frustration. Ask Mrs. Collins for help if you don't understand something. Just do your personal best.
Establish homework as a priority for your child.
Try to provide a quiet place to do homework.
Set a routine for doing homework.
Take a break if your brain feels full....but make sure to return to your work.
Contact me if your child is struggling with homework; homework should take no more than 50 minutes, including silent reading time.
General Tips:
Homework should be neat and turned in on time.
All assignments must have the correct heading.
All Math should be completed in pencil.
All work should be completed by the student. Parents may check that it is complete and make suggestions for improvement.
Late Homework:
Points will be taken off graded assignments.
A conference may need to be set up if a student is consistently late handing in their homework.
