Digital Resources

TYPING SKILLS

In today's digital world typing is an important skill for our students to master. We begin typing instruction with library lessons in third grade. Students are encouraged to use the correct hand and finger positioning to improve their speed and accuracy.

Students in 3rd and 4th grade have been using Typing Club on the Chromebooks in the library. This program will teach them typing skills using proper hand positioning. When they log into the program it will maintain their progress for the next session. In order to pass each lesson, they need to keep trying until they earn all five stars. Games are incorporated into the learning in order to make it fun.

This program is also free to use at home from any computer with an internet connection.

To login to typing club at home:

Students should click the button to login using Google and then enter their school username using the format:

username@pobschools.org

The password is the same one they use for all their school accounts.

Digital Citizenship Resources

Common Sense Media defines digital citizenship as the ability to think critically, behave safely and participate responsibly in the digital world.
