STUCO Elections

School is already in session, and fall is in full swing, and at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle, everyone is voting! POBMS’ Student Council elections were held on the 30th of October. Members of the club ran for positions like Treasurer, Secretary, Board of Ed Rep, Principal’s Pal, President, or grade-level representative. The results?

Student Council Voting

The student council voting is where students in this club (who are interested) try and get a position. The positions you can get are 5th-grade representative, 6th-grade Representative, 7th-grade Representative, President, Principal’s pal, Secretary, and Treasurer. These students go around the school hanging up posters to catch other student’s attention so they can vote for them.

Pep Rally

Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School recently had its 2023-24 Pep Rally! POBMS’ various sports teams showed off their school spirit. Leading up to the event, the school held a Spirit Week. Students and teachers dressed up and enjoyed fun themes like Jersey/Sports Day, Motivational Shirt Day, and Tie-Dye Day. Additionally, everyone wore orange to celebrate Unity Day. POBMS’ many sports teams include:

• Girls Soccer

• Boys Soccer

• Football

• Swim

• Cross Country

• Badminton

• Cheer

And each team, as well as everyone in this school, showed their amazing sportsmanship and school spirit, making this year’s Pep Rally a truly memorable one!

Pep Rally

The Pep Rally is an event where 7th and 8th-grade students on the POBMS sports team run through a banner created by other Student Council members.
