Piper Milly is definitely not the most talented kid at Chumley Prep, especially when she is the new kid. Though her true passion is science, she is also very kind. When the principal announces an excelsior award. Everybody looks past kindness to make sure they can get the excelsior. Can Piper find a way to “excel” while still staying true to herself?
POBMS ANNUAL BOOK TALK EVENT

"Shine is a very good book about fitting in. It also teaches a very good lesson about integrity."
Mrs.Comens says "Shine was a great book!" She explained it wasn't the best book she has ever read, but she felt it was definitely an inspiring way to learn about kindness and integrity.
Emmalyn shares "This book is great. I am already half way done!" She explained that it is amazing so far and she can't wait until she's finished to find out what happens. Her favorite part so far is all the kindness she is getting at her new school.”

The BOND 2025

Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District hosted a vote. They had two propositions.
Proposition 1 was to expand the cafeteria, auditorium, and outdoor space in the high school. They also were adding more space in Judy Jacobs Elementary School.
Proposition 2 was to take over Jamaica Avenue School and turn it into an educational space. Taxes would increase $550 per household. The vote was on January 15.
Proposition 1 was defeated by a vote of 1,363 yes votes to 2,513 no votes. Proposition 2 was defeated by a vote of 1,244 yes votes to 2,585 no votes.
