Welcome to this month’s Teacher Spotlight! Here, we interview teachers around our school to learn more about them. This month, we’re interviewing Ms. Fitzpatrick. Ms. Fitzpatrick is a teacher at POB Middle School. She teaches 8th grade Science and Earth Science. 8th grade student Logan Tsai, who has Ms. Fitzpatrick as his Science teacher, asked her several questions during the interview about her teaching history, preferences, and career. Q: What was the “inspiring moment” that got you into teaching Science?
A: I’ve always wanted to teach Science, but my dad really liked geology, and I grew up with it.
Q: How long have you been teaching here?
A: Nine years.
Q: What is your favorite scientific topic to teach?
A: I like Weather.
Q: Who or what has helped you the most during your career?
A: My colleagues have helped me a lot during my career.
Q: What do you think about New York State’s new Science curriculum for the 2024-2025 school year?
A: I think it’s engaging, but challenging.
