IV-22 - Bachelor in Mathematics Education
PERSONAL INFORMATION
I am a Math major student, currently in my 4th and last year. I came from Marilao, Bulacan. I like playing games. When I find it challenging to write essays, I play mobile games to give myself time to think of ideas. I sing, read law-related novels and books, do church service, organize projects for social welfare, and tutor students for free. Currently, we’re still in the process of collecting books through donations and soon, we will give them to children for free.
WHY TEACHING?
When I was a student, I observed that how you learn Mathematics depends on the teacher’s teaching strategies. Many of my high school classmates didn’t like Math, and they found it difficult to understand the lessons. In the future, I want to teach Mathematics as fun and engaging for the students to enjoy and learn simultaneously.
TEACHING APPROACH
I believe cooperative learning is crucial in Mathematics. Some students enjoy mathematics, and some don’t. Those who find it challenging to learn Math must be grouped with those students who excel in Mathematics. Cooperative learning might help them improve their performance, and maybe they will better understand the lessons with the help of their classmates.
