The UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) is the government agency that serves as the liaison between the Philippine government and UNESCO. Operating under the Department of Foreign Affairs, UNACOM facilitates the country’s participation in UNESCO programs across education, science, culture, and communication. It also promotes the integration of UNESCO’s values and global frameworks into national policies and initiatives. 

The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) is a UNESCO Category 2 Centre based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Established in 2000, APCEIU promotes Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and Education for International Understanding (EIU) across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. It supports teacher training, develops educational materials, and fosters cooperation among countries to build a culture of peace, human rights, and sustainable development through education. 

The Philippine Normal University (PNU), established in 1901, is the National Center for Teacher Education in the Philippines. Renowned for its leadership in teacher training and educational research, PNU plays a vital role in shaping the country’s education system. With multiple campuses nationwide, it is a key partner in advancing Global Citizenship Education, sustainability, and inclusive teaching practices in both basic and higher education. 

The GCED Cooperation Centre Philippines is a pioneering institution committed to advancing Global Citizenship Education (GCED) across the country. Working in close partnership with UNESCO APCEIU, the Centre leads efforts to localize and integrate GCED into teacher education, school curricula, and community learning. It serves as a collaborative platform for educators, institutions, and stakeholders to promote peace, equity, sustainability, and active global citizenship through transformative education.
