Mrs. Hausauer

Welcome to English with Mrs. Hausauer at Peoria Notre Dame!

This site is designed to broaden the communication between school and home. Use the links at the left to be redirected to your class page.

On your class page you will find the daily calendar, assignments, notes and links.

Availability

I usually arrive at school by 7:15 and stay until 3:45 or 4:45. I am available for help etc before or after school. You are welcome to make an appointment with me for help or to just drop in! Please note that I occasionally have meetings in the morning or after school and that I attend morning mass every other Tuesday.

Please contact me via email at k.hausauer@pndhs.org with any questions or concerns.

I last check my email for student questions/homework help at 9pm. You may email me after that, but I may not reply until the next school day. Please plan accordingly. If you have a question, first check your Google Classroom and the website, then check with a friend, then email me. You are all going to become great problem solvers and information detectives.

Classroom Expectations

The classroom is designed to be a comfortable environment for learning. Respect is a virtue that we'll practice daily in our classroom.

1. Be on time for class.

2. Plagiarism is a serious offense and school policy will be followed in any case of plagiarism. A zero will be given for the assignment and administration will be notified for proper disciplinary action. Integrity for your work is of utmost importance. I expect you to complete your own work and not to share it with others who may use it as their own. If you are having trouble with an assignment or timeline, please see me for help. I'd rather have you turn in your own work late than to turn in someone else's work on time. When the teacher is talking, no one else is.

3. Be prepared for class. Always bring your books, notebook, pen/pencil, and any other materials needed for the day. This also means remembering to bring in any homework that is due. Being prepared applies to dress code as well.

4. You are responsible for making up any homework and assignments missed because of an excused absence. The homework for the week is posted online. The website is updated weekly. It is then your responsibility to schedule a make up time for a test or quiz. Handbook policy will dictate allotted time for make up work. If you are going to be leaving early for an excused absence (ie: sports game, doctor's appointment) you are still responsible for turning in your homework before you leave. Most assignments can be emailed to me if you are missing class. If you are absent, please contact me.

5. Homework is late if not turned in at the beginning of class. The assignment will lose 10% for each day late, until the 6th day when no credit is given per handbook policy.

6. Please keep your cell phone in your back pack for the class hour.

7. You are expected to participate in class fully each day.

8. Be respectful of other students, materials, and property in the room.

9. I dismiss class, not the bell. You will sit in your seats until I end class.

10. With the privilege of the laptops comes great responsibility. You are expected to be on task and focused throughout class. There is no chatting online, no games, etc. You will be allowed to listen to your own music occasionally, but only once I give approval. A warning may or may not be given to stay on task before computer privileges are lost.
