All game assignments are made via ArbiterSports.com and are based, in part, on your geographical, date and time availabilities. You must provide availability each month in order to be assigned. Once training is successfully completed and you are offered a contract, you will be issued a login for:
access to ArbiterSports for submitting availability
the PNBOA website so you can read blogs, access training materials. obtain a roster and learn about the Association
The PNBOA's Assigning Secretary for School games is John Lindsey (jwlassigner@comcast.net) and for Recreation is Salima Kanji (recassignor@pnboa.org).
For the PNBOA, yearly dues are $150 ($80 to the WOA for mandated dues for training, insurance, etc plus $35 to WOA for each sport officiated and $35 PNBOA dues used to offset operating costs). Dues are paid each year in advance for the following year, automatically deducted from current year earnings. Additionally, there is a 7% assessment fee for Recreation games. All dues are waived the first year.
During the time you are classified as an Apprentice, you will not be formally evaluated or ranked. While many people will help you, provide feedback, and even give you written evaluations, you will not be eligible for numerical rankings until you have been promoted to the Registered list. A willingness to accept constructive input from veteran officials is one of the main factors in helping to elevate your officiating career.
