Course Description

Global Studies is an interdisciplinary course, which will explore ecological and sociological themes and issues facing the world today. Cultural awareness, geographical features and scientific principles will help tie the concepts together to give students a comprehensive global perspective. Units will be centered on the following regions; Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa. Causes and effects will be examined extensively and applied to the pressing issues going on in these regions. By making these holistic connections, students will be working on 21st century skills that are truly needed to understand the enormity of our global concerns today.

Grading:

Formative: 20% - Group work, journals, homework, class work, discussions etc..

Summative: 80%- Essays, research projects, multimedia presentations, debates
