If you have an uncontrolled water leak or pipe burst, the first thing to do is turn off your water main.  Your water main is usually at the ground level in a home near the hot water tank, has a valve to turn off, and often runs into the ground. It is very important to do this right away to minimize the damage that even a few minutes of water leak can cause. If you live in a condo, your water shutoff is often in a closet or behind a removable panel. If you cannot find this, you may need to contact condo management as some condos do not have water shutoff valves within the units.  Once water has been turned off, contact the number below to deal with your emergency.  Please let them know you are a tenant of Calgary Property Management Services Inc.

NO HEAT

If you have lost heat in cold weather conditions, first check to make sure power is on and check the pilot light at the furnace.  Once you have checked these items, contact the number below to deal with your emergency.  Please let them know you are a tenant of Calgary Property Management Services Inc.  

If you are in a condo with baseboard heat, these systems take many hours to reach temps and are very slow.  After ensuring controls have been set to heat, please check for any heat radiating at the baseboard.  If there is any heat radiating, the system is working and just needs time.  In this case, do not use emergency services!  In most condos, heat will not drop low enough for this to merit emergency dispatch.

If the main drains at the property have backed up, the first thing to do is call the City of Calgary at 3-1-1.  Often there is a backup at the street level that can be dealt with by them and cannot be dealt with by a typical plumber.

If there is significant backup or flooding of water it is vital to dispatch a flood remediation company asap to avoid much larger issues if water is allowed to sit.  If you have flooding, please contact our flood remediation company.
