Miss Hogben
Miss Hogben would like to thank all those students who took part in the following competition...
Win a copy of Robert Muchamore's 'Robin Hood'
My sister, Jessica, (the judge) was overwhelmed by the passion and standard of the work entered. If she could, she would've given a prize to everyone :) - so well done
The Winners
Isaac Year 9
Judge's comments: 'I loved this from the very beginning, the way it was laid out, that it was very informative and easy to read and it really demonstrated how passionate the student was about the book.'Olivia Year 8
Judge's comments: 'After reading Olivia's book review I really wanted to read the book (which I guess is a sign of a good review). She was very thorough in describing all aspects of the book, but at the same time, her writing was very engaging and enjoyable and really reflected her understanding of the book along with her opinion. She was very honest too - and I loved that.'Charlie Year 7
Judge's comments: 'School Life at Home'As well as being engaging, I felt that this piece was really heart felt and at one point brought a tear to my eye. I loved his observations of the changing seasons and I felt that he really captured the 'mood of the nation' and thought this would be a good piece of work to look back on when we are out of lockdown.'Oliver Year 7
Judge's comments: 'I liked Oliver's 'Life in Lockdown' as it was a really good comparison piece. It was very detailed and informative, and really highlighted life before and after lockdown. Another piece that will be really interesting to look back on in the future.'Julianna Year 8
Judge's comments: 'I wanted to give this student a special prize for the quality of her writing. I was blown away by how sophisticated her work was and felt she deserved a separate award for her writing.'Highly Recommended Students: Ryan Year 7, Oliver Year 7, Spike Year 8
Shortlisted Students: Addison Year 9, Molly Year 8, Grace Year 8, Oliver Year 7, Polly Year 7, Logan Year 7, Max Year 7, Joe Year 7, Harrison Year 9
