Whitleigh will see the re-introduction of the 44 during the daytime providing a more direct link to the City Centre for both Southway and Whitleigh. The current 40A/41A timetable will only operate on Sunday & Bank Holiday evenings and will continue to cover both Southway and Whitleigh.

We are finding that due to the lack of congestion in the city, bus journey times have been reduced. The last thing both passengers and drivers want is to be sat in a bus stop waiting for the timetabled departure time before setting off again.We have updated a number of our services, reducing running time, so the journey is speed up. We have not reduced any frequencies, or cut any journeys. Just made the current journeys faster.

40/41 Service 40 will operate from the City Centre via Looseleigh Lane to Southway and from Southway via Whitleigh Cross to the City Centre. Service 41 will operate the reverse of the 40 route, with a combined frequency of up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday. Southway on a Sunday will still continue to be served by the 42A/42D and 40A/41A.

- 40 and 41 services replaced by the 42 and 42A. Anyone wanting to travel between Whitleigh and Southway will need to change at Crownhill.
- Service 71 will also provide an alternative link between Whitleigh and Looseleigh.
- 40A and 41A services withdrawn to be replaced by the 44 for journeys to Whitleigh and the 42A for journeys to Southway.
- Southway will now be serviced mainly by services 42 and 42A, as set out below. The 42 and 42A will provide four buses an hour from Southway, operating via Looseleigh Lane or the George Junction to Derriford before continuing to Royal Parade.
- Additionally, a revised service 41 will run hourly to Mayflower Street, providing services to Sir John Hunt school.
