Plusmining's founder and Executive Director since 2015.
Between 2006 y 2014 he directed the "Centro de Estudios del Cobre y la Minería" (CESCO), a think tank specialized in mining public policy.
Before that, he performed as Director of Studies at the "Comisión Chilena del Cobre" (Cochilco), consulting organization for the Chilean government in economic-mining matters.
Mr. Guajardo previously worked as an economist at the "Grupo Internacional de Estudios del Cobre", intergovernmental organization based in Lisboa, Portugal.
Mr. Guajardo is a doctor in International Economics and Development from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid in Spain..
He excelled as the best graduate in his undergraduate studies of Business and Economics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile, also obtaining a diploma of advanced studies in Economics from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid in Spain and in the "Programa Internacional Avanzado de Minería y el Medioambiente" of Luleä University in Sweden.
Juan Carlos Guajardo holds a constant presence in the local and international media concerning mining.
He is member of the "Comité de Expertos del Precio del Cobre" (copper price expert commitee) performed each year by the finance ministry of Chile to determine the parameters used to prepared the country's national budget since 2004.
He is member of the "Comité de Asuntos Internacionales" (International Affairs Commitee) of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), since December 2016.
Responsible for the organization of the Asia Copper Week, the biggest copper-related event in Asia and one of the largest in the world, since 2012.
Matias Marañon has over 4 years of experience in the mining industry, participating and leading in several projects for large local and international mining companies. During his time as an analyst and adviser, he has been involved in over 15 projects in the areas of economic studies, econometric modeling, scenario simulations, risk management and analysis, and strategic evaluation.
Matias holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering with Diploma in Mining Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is currently a candidate for the degree of Master in Mining Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

Eric Medel joined Plusmining team in 2018, after having done his internship in the Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco). He has wide knowledge in finances, cost analysis and mining projects, as a result of having done several tutorships during his college period. In addition, for the XX version of SIMIN, he gave a presentation on tunneling costs.
Eric holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
