Smile for the camera! Bridget: A Day in the Life takes us on a personal journey with teen singing sensation Bridget Spoils, as this TV reality spoof documents her every move from the time she wakes up until the time...well, the time she's driven nuts by the prying, jealous eyes of the media, her family, and her adoring-yet-annoying fans. At the age of 16, Bridget Spoils has captured the hearts of teen girls everywhere with her hits "Oh Baby," "Oh Baby Baby," and "Baby Baby Baby." Into her life are thrown photo shoots, tabloid stories, a personal entourage, and a boyfriend who just doesn't measure up. All Bridget really wants is a hamburger from the local Wackyburger. But watch out...the paparazzi are closing in, and the media circus has just begun!
TRACKS BY PETER TARSI (STUDENT DIRECTED)
This Side of Heaven After two unlucky accidents, seventeen-year-olds Fever and Chase must adapt to the new limitations of their bodies: partial-paralysis for Chase and a permanent limp for Fever. Through a series of vignettes chronicling their weekly PT sessions, the two also struggle to accept the reality of being disabled for the rest of their lives. With Humor, honesty, and Romance, Fever and Chase find a new sense of themselves in each other.
TRACKS A group of strangers meet in a dirty subway station. They have arrived and their watches have stopped. Soon they learn there is no way out of the station and find out the unfortunate truth, they are all dead. Since subway stations have two sides, they reason one platform is bound for heaven and the other for hell. But which platform are they on? The arrival of someone from the other platform only complicates matters. As a train finally approaches, they must decide whether to stay or have faith and climb aboard to their final destination.
The play begins "in the now-abandoned farmhouse of John and Minnie Wright". On command from the county attorney, Mr. Hale recounts his visit to the house the previous day. He found Mrs. Wright behaving strangely and her husband upstairs dead, with a rope around his neck. Mr. Hale notes that when he questioned her, Mrs. Wright claimed that she was asleep when someone strangled her husband. While the three men are searching the house for evidence, "the women begin to explore the domestic space on their own. As they interact with the stage environment, the two women discover clues to the couple's personalities as well as potential evidence in the case". Although Minnie and John Wright are not physically present they "become vivid figures for us via the dialogue and actions of Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters". Through evidence, the wives soon realize that Mr. Wright killed his wife's pet bird, and that led to Mrs. Wright killing her husband. Although the men find no evidence upstairs in the Wright house that would prove Mrs. Wright guilty, the wives piece together that Mrs. Wright was a victim of abuse by her husband. They understand how it feels to be oppressed by men. After the women discover the truth, they hide the dead bird, knowing that it would otherwise be used to make the case against Mrs. Wright. Whether Mrs. Wright is convicted is neither confirmed nor denied at the end of the play.
