Career Planning Activities

PV believes that students who set themselves up for success have researched their career interest, built their behavioral and technical skills and aligned their postsecondary plans to their career goals. PV helps with that by allowing students to attend postsecondary visits, worksite tours, college-major/career specific tours, lunch & learns (L&L's) which can lead to job shadows. Once students have completed those opportunities students have the potential of participating in apprenticeships, internships or work experience.

PV provides opportunities in-house, virtual and tours. These can be found on the Postsecondary & Career Opportunities Calendar.

College/Military Visits - provide students the opportunity to visit with college/military admissions/recruiters to learn more about their organizations when the student can't make it to campus. College visits are open to 11th - 12th grade students. Military visits are open to 10th - 12th grade students.

Tours - can be business/career specific or college/major specific and are available to PV students, some tours are grade, major or career specific. Most opportunities require students to have expressed interest with a counselor, teacher or through Xello.

Career Days - specific information often with a hands-on component about specific careers. Some are grade specific.

Hiring Fairs - For 11th - 12th grade students looking for part-time/full-time after high school jobs. Students must have a resume and have participated in at least one type of interview (mock, panel, industry) and be willing to wear industry-appropriate attire.
