Welcome to room B154! Come on in!
Growing up with undiagnosed inattentive ADHD, I struggled with motivation, organization, time management, note-taking, etc. That struggle continues to motivate me to help others. Over the years, through trial-and-error, research, and training, I have armed myself with strategies to help my students and myself gain/improve these skills. Lack of these skills often holds back many students from reaching their full potential, so I integrate such lessons into my curriculum regardless of the subject I teach.
My personal mission in teaching is to engage every student. My expectations for my students are high, and I strongly believe that with the right support, every student can reach his/her potential. I take into account the different ways students learn, and seek to take that and students' interests in consideration in order to present topics in a way that motivates. My desire to find ways to help my students drives me to explore and implement new strategies. In addition, I draw on my creative hobbies (singing, acting, painting, and drawing) to spice up my lessons. If I'm bored, how can I expect my students not to be!
