Classroom Guidance Lessons

Throughout the school year all students will have access to counseling curriculum through classroom guidance lessons. A communication will always be sent home to let you know when I have visited your child's classroom. The home communication will include information about what was learned, along with some follow up steps that may be helpful at home. Students at all grade levels will get a welcome lesson from the counselor in the first weeks of school, and an age appropriate career and college readiness lesson.

Teachers may also request additional lessons based on a classroom's specific needs. Some topics may include:

  • Tattling
  • Joking vs. teasing
  • Respecting each other as learners
  • Respecting differences
  • How to join in and play
  • Character Development
  • Inclusion (Anti-Bullying)
