Home Teaching Assignment


Students who are unable to attend/participate in PE due to illness have the opportunity to complete the

following assignments in order to earn a grade. Please submit weekly


I. Assignments


Reading & Writing: Fitness or Sport Related Articles or Videos

★ Read one article or watch one video per week

★ Take notes or write a summary

○ Neatly handwritten on binder paper

Exercise & Fitness Log

★ Exercise a minimum of 4 days per week following the guidelines below

○ Complete Fitness Log and get parent signature


II. Guidelines for exercise:


Cardiovascular Activity - Minimum 3 days for 20 minutes

Examples: Sport Activities, Power Walking, Jogging, Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Dancing, Interval or Boot

Camp workouts (at a gym, DVD, On-Demand, Youtube, etc)

Strength Exercises - Minimum 2 days

Examples: Push ups, curl ups, air squats, lunges, Plank, Use of dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands,

weight machines; Pilates, Yoga, Boot Camp

Flexibility - minimum of 3 days per week after exercise or a good warm up

Examples: Perform static stretches, Yoga


III. Grading:


A = Student has completed assignment 1 with high quality and assignment 2 based on their own

personal level of tolerance.

B = Student has completed assignment 1 satisfactorily and assignment 2 based their own personal level

of tolerance.

C = Student has completed one of the of two assignments satisfactorily

D = Student has completed one of the two assignments with minimal effort

F = Student has failed to complete either of the required assignments satisfactorily
