About Me

Hello!

My name is Taylor Newman or better known to students as Mrs. Newman! I am beyond excited to be teaching another year of 5th grade at Fairlands Elementary!

I am a Bay Area native, having grown up in Livermore. After graduating from Livermore High School, I pursued my passion for teaching at Sonoma State University where I received my Bachelors in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) with a concentration in Mathematics in Fall 2017. I continued my education at Sonoma State earning my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in Fall 2018. In the Fall of 2020, I received my Masters of Education in Instructional Design while teaching full-time virtually! I also graduated from California State University East Bay in May 2024 and earned my Administrative Services Credential!

When I am not in the classroom, you can find me traveling, playing with my Beagle Bella and cat Sweetie, spending time with friends and family, or at Baskin Robbins....I LOVE ice cream!

This will be my 8th year teaching, having previously taught 4th grade at Walnut Grove Elementary and 5th grade at Fairlands Elementary for the past seven years. I am passionate and determined to make your child's last year of elementary school one to remember.  I cannot wait for a year of learning and growing as we embark on this journey together!

Mrs. Newman 💙💚
