What is AVID?
AVID is a college and career preparatory system, designed to help students become successful, independent, and lifelong learners. AVID focuses on developing the skills needed to succeed in high school, college, career, and beyond. It is not a magical fix to raise grades, and will require students to work hard to improve their study habits which will, in turn, improve performance. In AVID 9, you will begin your college preparatory path for admission to four-year colleges and universities. Now that you are a new AVID student, be ready to try and learn new things about yourself as a student and to expand your knowledge about what it takes to get to college AND to be prepared for success once you get there!
