Though we no longer submit our scores for state review, the Harvest Park Middle School PE Department still employs the FitnessGram model for informal Physical Fitness Testing. The main goal of the test is to help students in starting life-long habits of regular physical activity.
Many of our students (depending on class) will participate in an informal fitness test. The test has six parts: mile run, push-ups, curl-ups, shoulder stretch, trunk lift, height, and weight. The test results can be used by students, teachers, and parents.
The FitnessGram® test battery assesses health-related fitness components: aerobic capacity, body composition, and muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility.
