Students of the Foothill High School Choral Program have the chance to participate in a high-quality, collaborative, and inclusive music-making experience with students of all ability levels. Singers will learn a diverse array of repertoire from different cultures and time periods, perform and compete throughout the year, build musicianship skills, and work individually and in groups on assignments in composition, arranging, and music analysis, creating a well-rounded music education for every student.
The program currently consists of four ensembles that meet during the school day, and two ensembles that meet weekly, on their own during lunch.
Concert Choir - mixed ensemble, no audition requirement
Treble Choir - soprano/alto ensemble, auditions in Spring
Chamber Choir - mixed ensemble, auditions in Spring
Rhythm in Blue (Jazz Choir) - mixed ensemble, auditions in Spring
Birds of Prey (BOPs) & Muses - meet during access, separate student-run ensembles
The choirs from Foothill have performed all over North America, including Chicago, Orlando, Seattle, Boston, New York City, Oahu, Vancouver, and throughout California, with memorable performances in places such as Pearl Harbor and Ground Zero. Each year, the students of the choral program have the opportunity to participate in performance tours. You can find more information under the "Tour" tab.
