Reading

Reading with your Child

If your child gets stuck on a word, please do not just give them the word. Ask him/her to make the first sound, check the picture (we encourage them to use the picture if they get stuck on a word, because they can get so much information from the picture), look for a smaller chunk inside the word, etc. However, if they are stuck on a name, please go ahead and give them the name. It is ok for him/her to reread books throughout the week.
