Kids sharing their music favorites, experiences, or performances is so much fun! If you have a student insterested in participating, but not sure what to do, here are some ideas. Need to send an email with a video/link? Information for that is at the bottom. Thanks for having your student participate!
LIVE PRESENTATION/PERFORMANCE: Good 'ol Show and Tell, but with music!
play a prepared song on the piano, or other instrument (bring music if needed)
sing a song (a capella, or with an audio recording)
perform a dance (space permitting, with an audio recording)
Share a music related item
Book with a music theme or that plays music
Toy or stuffy that play music
Music box
Instrument (that can be played or not)
Music decoration
RECORDED PRESENTATION/PERFORMANCE: Pre-recorded show and tell!
Students can do the same activites as above, but recorded at home (or anywhere).
Students can share a performance from a recital, show, concert, or other event they participated in.
Videos DO NOT have to show students. We need to hear the music, but don't have to see anything.
Videos can be sent directly, or by link to a video site (YouTube, etc)
FOUND VIDEOS/PERFORMANCES/MUSIC: Content publicly available online
Students can share music-related videos from YouTube, similar to what I have in my YouTube playlists for each month.
Songs or videos from professional artists/musicians/bands
Recorded peformances from concerts/festivals/tv shows
Dance, or other activites, set to music
SHARING RECORDED MATERIAL: send me emails with link or files!
Compose an email: jpedroni@pleasantonusd.net. The subject sould be MUSIC SHARE WEEK
The body of the email should include the name of your student, and their grade level teacher.
Please include the web link to the item, or attach the video/audio file
Emails must be received the day before your student's music class so I can check and confirm the content. Emails received the same day as music class will not get checked in time.
Got any questions? Please feel free to send me an email :)
