PTA is the oldest and largest child advocacy group in the nation. What do we mean by that? Step back in time and learn about the history of PTA and ways PTA has impacted our youth over the years:
California State PTA provides Comprehensive General Liability coverage with a $1,000,000 limit that covers all unit, council and district PTAs in California when involved in allowable PTA activities.
It is critical that before planning any PTA activities the RED, YELLOW and GREEN pages be reviewed. Certain activities and events are prohibited because they are excluded by the insurance policy or because they are dangerous or jeopardize the safety of our children and youth. If the PTA sponsors a RED page event and someone is injured because of PTA negligence, the individual PTA officers could be held personally liable.
As of October 23, 2018 our insurance policy is now held with AIM Association Insurance Management, Inc. (not Knight's Insurance).
Insurance is handled by both a broker (policy services) and a carrier (policy that provides coverage and pays claims). There is no change to your current carrier coverage, limits or premiums; and there is no lapse in coverage. California State PTA provides Comprehensive General Liability coverage with a $1,000,000 limit that covers all unit, council and district PTAs in the state when involved in allowable PTA activities. Only the insurance broker has changed.
