Director of Childcare

Karri Shanks

My name is Karri Shanks. I am married and together my husband and I have two sons. Our oldest serves in the Army National Guard and our youngest is in the 8th grade. I hold an Associates in Teaching , have 25 years of Early Childhood Education experience that includes directing large state licensed preschool/ daycare programs, successful classroom teachings and management, curriculum development, school-age tutoring programs, and school library management experience. I have a passion for education and the support that is necessary. I am extremely honored to be serving as the Director of Childcare in the Pleasant Hill School District.

Jaron Reyes

My name is Jaron Reyes. I am a proud 2025 Pleasant Hill High School graduate and have worked for the childcare program for nearly 3 years. I have enjoyed it very much and am dedicated to supporting the education of our students through this program in every way. I look forward to working with the students and families of our program in a new way.

Ms. Jordyn

Hi! My name is Jordyn Barnes, and I am returning to work at the child care program. I am a very proud mom to twin boys, one dog, BabyBelle and a Blue Tailed Skink name Stinky Leo!

I am excited to be back at the school with all the kids after a short leave! I look forward to getting to know you and your students and making the daycare a place of fun, inclusion and happiness for them.

Samantha Ward

My name is Samantha Ward. I joined the Pleasant Hill School District in the spring of 2025. I am also a high school graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. I enjoy working with the children and watching them grow and succeed in what they are working towards. I am excited to be part of the childcare program and working with the students of our community.

Sandy Alig

I have been with the Childcare program for many dedicated years. During the school year you can find me in the school cafeteria cooking up delicious meals for our students. I love working in our school and watching the children grow each year!

Amy Knapp

My name is Amy Knapp. I live in Peculiar with my husband and two children. I decided to join the Pleasant Hill School District in May of 2024 after have worked in the Early Childhood Education field for nearly 20 years. I have a strong passion for working with children and supporting their education. In my free time I love spending time with family and friends, doing anything outdoors, cars, hair, animals and Halloween is my favorite holiday!
