Here at PLHS we have 3 different concert bands. Each ensemble focuses on the basics of playing in a group setting: intonation, balance, and blend. Each ensemble has 3 concerts per year; one in the fall, one in the winter, and one in the spring. 

Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is our top auditioned ensemble at PLHS. Students in this band will perform three concerts, contests/festivals, as well as pep band games during the Volleyball and Basketball seasons. Wind Ensemble is made up of 40-50 10th-12th grade students. 

Wind Symphony

Wind Symphony is is our 10th-12th grade non auditioned ensemble with about 40-50 members. Students will play three concerts a year as well as pep band games during the Volleyball and Basketball seasons. 

Freshman Band

Freshman Band is our 9th grade ensemble at PLHS. Students will perform three concerts a year as well as pep band games during the Volleyball and Basketball seasons. 

Percussion Ensemble

Percussion Ensemble is made up of our 10th-12th grade percussionists. Students in this ensemble will have experience playing with one of the 10th-12th grade concert bands, as well as performing percussion only pieces. Students in this class will perform 3 concerts with the concert bands, 2 additional concerts (as a percussion ensemble) with the jazz bands, and pep band games during the Volleyball and Basketball seasons.
