The person who made this page could not find very much in BOB on the shoes so here are some personal tips for shoe care (UNDER THE BOB NOTE)
Shoes shall be Navy-style plain black leather, low quarter, lace-style shoes with no stitching, decoration, or seam across the toe. Shoes shall be laced inside out through all eyelets and shall be well-shined. Poromeric (e.g., Corfam) shoes are optional but might not be authorized to be worn when standing some inspections or competing in some drill meets.
The shoe issued to you does not need much maintenance however they do need shined. shine kits are not issued to you, you have to purchase them yourself. in order to get the best shine for the least amount of effort you will want to buy parade gloss shoe polish a brand named "KIWI" is the current Senior Chiefs favorite, you will also need a applicator (Cotton Balls work the best) a buff brush and cloth or cotton rags (Old shirts work to)
First, unlace the shoes this is to polish the tongue of the shoe and as to not get polish on the laces
Second, apply Polish to the Edges Ledges and Leather of the shoe with a applicator or cotton ball
Third, allow the polish to "Dry" for 1-2 min
Fourth, use the buffing brush and swipe back and forth along the shoe wherever there is polish
5th, use your rag (or more cotton balls) and put water on said item. ring out excess and go in circular motions across where the shoe was buffed.
